OUR NEW TEACHING CENTRE :

At the beginning of January this year, work started on our new teaching centre and we have worked with the bangs and crashes of sledgehammers, drills and diggers every day since, not to say the dust and debris which settled everywhere, even on us.

So, has it all been worth it? We think so as the result is way beyond what we had hoped for. The finishing touches are underway and we will be welcoming students into the new centre for our next Certificate in Hydrotherapy course starting on Friday, 20 April. Once the centre is completely finished, photos will be posted on the website. As a reminder, here is the photo of our Assistant Manager, Kirsty Arthur, on the very first day work started.

COURSE UPDATES :

A Top Up To Level 3 course will run on Wednesday, 9 May followed by a First Aid Refresher on Wednesday, 16 May. There are still places available on both these days.

The next Certificate in Hydrotherapy course starts on Friday, 22 June and is booking up fast so if you would like a place, please get your booking form in soonest. With the additional space available to us now, new courses are in the pipeline, aimed not only at Hydrotherapists, but all other canine professionals and interested dog owners. Full information and a booking form is still to be finalised but please ‘save the date’ - Saturday, 13 October 2012 - when behaviourist, David Ryan, will be joining us for a seminar entitled ‘'The Holistic Nature of Canine Behaviour Problems'.

Combining years of practical experience as a police dog handler and home office accredited trainer, with a post graduate diploma from Southampton University, David now works as a veterinary referral animal behaviour counsellor and was chair of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors from 2009-early 2012. We will post full details and a booking form on the website or email us at info@greyfriarsrehab.co.uk.

THE WORLD OF RESCUE

A big ‘THANK YOU’ is to due all our clients who have supported The Barney Fund, Greyfriars charitable arm. With rescue organisations now working beyond full capacity, both in terms of finances and capacity, The Barney Fund provides financial assistance for those dogs who need help to get fully fit so that they can find new, loving homes. This year so far 15 dogs from a variety of organisations have attended Greyfriars for physiotherapy and hydrotherapy. All are doing well, and apart from the new arrivals, everyone is now in a permanent home.
